Who is behind Growcape?

Kim is the founder and designer at Growcape Garden Design, a small garden design studio based in the southwest of Western Australia. She is passionate about creating beautiful, environmentally resilient gardens that thrive with minimal maintenance.

Kim’s journey to caring for the garden environment began over twenty years ago with a degree in Natural Resource Management and a role working with a conservation farming group in the Avon Valley. Now qualified with an Advanced Certificate in Landscape Design, Kim combines these experiences for the benefit of homeowners and their outdoor areas.

At home, Kim’s garden is a combination of the large, productive vegetable garden required to fuel her family and their outdoor lifestyle, and a native ‘bush block’ garden that provides safe haven for the critically endangered Western Ringtail Possum and Red-Tailed Black Cockatoo, quendas, and numerous other birds, insects and creatures. In the spring, native orchids flourish.

Whether you have a small, residential space or a large property, Kim combines her experiences in design and conservation to deliver practical, low-maintenance, custom gardens that work with nature and are beautiful.
